Batch Architect

Blutic is looking for an experienced Batch Architect with 10+ yrs experience owning and optimizing the batch process end-to-end across the ecosystem. This role combines hands-on engineering with architectural ownership, focusing on enhancing operational efficiency, reducing technical debt, and defining batch strategies. The ideal candidate will own the batch schedule, make strategic decisions on batch processing, and ensure alignment with business objectives and IT best practices.

A strong understanding of health care batch processes is required. Experience with Broadcom’s Automic Automation and Automation Analytics & Intelligence (AAI) products is a plus.

This is a 100% remote opportunity with 12 months project engagement. The candidate should be willing to work in the Pacific time zone.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and govern the enterprise batch schedule, ensuring alignment with business priorities and IT strategies.
  • Define and drive batch architecture and strategy, including modernization initiatives, optimization, and scalability.
  • Analyze and optimize batch workflows, identifying performance bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Implement performance tuning strategies to enhance efficiency, reliability, and resilience.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for batch processing, including standards, patterns, and automation frameworks.
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure batch workflows meet SLAs and business requirements.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce technical debt and enhance the overall operational state of batch processing.
  • Work with Automic Automation to design, architect, and fine-tune batch workflows, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Leverage Automation Analytics & Intelligence (AAI) to provide business insights, visualization (dashboards), and predictive analysis for continuous improvement.
  • Provide expert-level troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of complex batch job failures.
  • Develop automation scripts and integrate monitoring tools for proactive issue detection and remediation.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies, security protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with leadership to align batch processing strategies with enterprise IT and business roadmaps.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to other batch engineers and support teams on best practices and strategic initiatives.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in batch architecture, owning batch schedules, and defining batch processing strategies.
  • Background with the healthcare industry is required and experience with TriZetto Facets is a strong plus.
  • Strong background in cloud-based batch processing optimization and performance tuning.
  • Expertise in Automic Automation job scheduling (or similar workload automation tools).
  • Experience with Automation Analytics & Intelligence (AAI) visualization (or similar workload analytics tools).
  • Experience with batch workflow design, execution, and monitoring at an enterprise scale.
  • Ability to analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and troubleshoot complex batch failures.
  • Proficiency in SQL scripting and database performance optimization.
  • Scripting experience in PowerShell or Shell scripting for automation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional collaboration and influence decision-making.
