DataPower and API Connect Engineer

MBI Digital is looking for a DataPower and API Connect Engineer who acts as a leader to establish proactive administration, processes, handles complex performance issues, and performs hands on troubleshooting. The candidate works in various ways in multiple roles; be it part of a team-initiative conducting a deep dive into an issue on a mission critical application; an individual full stack analyst who can proactively seek out, prove root cause and provide corrective actions or work arounds for the issue, or as an advisor for offering best practices of configurations, installations, migrations to the client business and development teams.

Depending on need and timing, this person may also be involved in the migration efforts from APIC v5 to APIC v10.

This is a 100% remote opportunity.

Automation experience is a plus, particularly looking at Python and Shell (bash, ksh, etc…) scripting

Role and Responsibilities as a DataPower and API Connect Engineer - 

DataPower:

  • Hand's on XSLT, Front Side Handling, Security configurations at DP v2018 firmware
  • Expertise in XSLT Coding.
  • Strong debugging skills.
  • Have experience of security implementations for Mutual Auth, Basic Auth, SSO, SAML, encrypt, decrypt, sign and verify.
  • Knowledge on IDG is added advantage
  • Will be taking over operational support (handling tickets), documenting environments and scheduled oncall

 

APIC:

  • Good knowledge and hands on experience in configuring IBM API connect platform v5 (cloud manager, API Manager, gateway, Developer Portal, Analytics)
  • Experience in OAuth 2, API Key Manager
  • knowledge of JSON, JWT and JWKS and their underlying specifications
  • Experienced in the Micro Services platform architecture, deployment, configuration, and management experience
  • knowledge on setting up plans & managing developer portal
  • Strong knowledge in working with Web services and API technologies, REST application & Micro service
  • Understanding GET/POST methods, CRUD operations
  • Should be available to work from 8am-5pm EST or 9am-6pm EST

 

Required Qualifications and skills:

  • 7+ years in Production support
  • Bachelor’s Degree or MS in Engineering or equivalent
  • Strong APIc & Datapower skills 
  • Automation experience is a plus, particularly looking at Python and Shell (bash, ksh, etc…) scripting
  • Systems Engineering experience working in complex enterprise environment
  • Demonstrated experience with implementation, management and operational support of the Messaging environment.
  • Experience working in a highly available clustered environment.
  • Able to read and work from technical manuals and other documentation
